Submissions Guidelines

ImageWelcome to the Penny-Farthing Press Submissions Guidelines. This page will explain what you must include when submitting your materials to Penny-Farthing Press. If you read this and still have questions, please email us at corp@pfpress.com.

Penny-Farthing Press Submission Policy:

Penny-Farthing Press appreciates the effort and time it requires to send submissions to countless publishers and editors to try to break into the comics industry.

With this being said, we have a NEW SUBMISSIONS POLICY. We no longer request SASEs to accompany submissions. This was done so that the editor could send back a response letter.

Unfortunately with the high volume of submissions, we simply do not have the time to respond to every submission that we receive. Penny-Farthing Press will no longer send written responses for unsolicited submissions and submissions will not be returned to the sender. Penny-Farthing Press still welcomes your submissions and all submissions will still be reviewed but we can no longer respond to every individual or send submissions back to the sender due to the growing number of submissions. If we see a submission with promise but no immediate use for it, we may keep it on file for future reference.

Only those creators for whom Penny-Farthing Press has immediate work will be contacted.

Guidelines For Writers:

Please make sure all submissions include a synopsis that is brief and to the point. Remember, the synopsis is the “first impression” of your submission and you know what they say about first impressions. If you are submitting just one single-issue story (standard 32 pp.), you may send the full script with your submission. If you are submitting a story for any kind of series or graphic novel, please send only the first chapter of the series. If we like what we see, we will contact you to see more. If you are submitting a completed work (script, art work and lettering) copies of this may be sent instead.

Please include on your cover letter or on the title page of your submission your name, address, a phone number where you can be reached and an email address. If you only include an email address with your submission, this does not mean we will email you a response.

Do not send samples/proposals via fax or email. All such submissions will be destroyed without review.

Do not make telephone or email follow-ups to check on the status of your submission. It is now Penny-Farthing Press’ policy to respond to submissions only if an editor wishes to hire the creator.

Please send submissions to:

Guidelines for Children’s Book Submissions:

Submissions for PFP’s Mythics line of children’s books should be stories of mythological content, such as alternate realities, magic or supernatural subject matter. We will not consider stories that don’t have some of these elements and generally fit our criteria.

Children’s book writers should send a synopsis and the first three chapters of the manuscript.

Please include on your cover letter or on the title page of your submission your name, address, a phone number you can reached at and an email address. If you only include an email address with your submission, this does not mean we will email you a response.
